But For The Grace of God
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8
During the process of honing my skills as a musician I have quite often studied the lives, career paths, and ways that others go about their craft. Through the Holy Spirit God has impressed upon me many many things which have taken me deeper into the way the world works.
While I have never really taken to pop culture since becoming saved, I have look to those that are "successful" to find out just what they did to "make it". After all if they did it, so can I. Right?
During these studies God gradually open my spiritual eyes. While I knew that much of the music business was "not right", even on a secular level, and certainly not right with God, I did not realize just who was running the show in mainstream entertainment until the Spirit led me to what was for me new revelations. For more see the Life Blog post "satan's Tactics have Not Changed".
What also concerns me is the reaction that other Christians have to those who have sold there souls to satan for eternity in exchange for fame and fortune here on earth.
I was doing some further reseach online and came across a Christian website. On this website he was listing and discussing many stars who worship satan in their videos and with their lives. In his zeal, he showed contempt to them and called them not so creative names, condemning them for what they had done.
This makes me sad and angry.
I can't help but think that these people are still physically alive. They are still souls that by God's grace can possibly be saved if Christians don't continue to drive them away and reinforce the lies that satan has purchased them with.
"When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, 'Who then can be saved?'
Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" Matthew 19:25-26
We are God's ambassadors here on earth. Our behavior can give people the idea that Christ isn't real which can lead to them believing that God isn't real. And if they believe that then certainly they would think that hell isn't real or possibly that satan is real but God isn't.
Following Christ is not a holier than thou atittude codemning the unsaved. Who are we to do that? God saves! We do not! So God condemns. We are grossly unqualified to do so.
It is but for the grace of God through the blood of Christ Jesus that we are saved. If not for that each and every Christian who has ever walked the face of the earth including you and me could very well be in the same situation.
"This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Romans 3:22-25
We drive people away from salvation and into hell by seeing others as either "one of us" or "not one of us" and setting different standards according to bigoted and imperfectly human standards.
It is wrong to be a racist or a bigot based on all sorts of things. So how wrong is it to drive someone away from salvation by allowing satan to fill us with hatred and contempt for an unsaved person! Hate and codemn the actions. Not the person.
Imagine all of the people who could have gone to heaven if not for being driven away by the behavior of Christians.
Imagine all of the people who will go to heaven if we show the same firm stance on sin yet love and compassion that Christ has for us. Never lie about the truth. Never water down the truth. But talk to people and try to meet them where they are in their lives. Plant seeds. Boldly share Christ. But have compassion for the unsaved. There but for the Grace of God go I.
Thank you so much Jesus for your sacrifice. Thank you for your mercy. Thank you for your grace.
If the reward of heaven doesn't quicken your resolve then truly realizing what hell really is might. people are going there and there is no escape from it if they do not accept Christ.
Absolutely nothing is more serious than this! Nothing else in all of existance compares to the reality of heaven and hell. We should all ask the Holy Spirit to remind of this constantly.
You will die one day. If you would like to know how you can be absolutely certain that when you die you will go to heaven and not too hell, click the link to the left or the link at the very top of this page.
Christ Jesus' burden is light. Just believe in him and you will be saved. Hell is a real, physical place. If you go are not saved when you die you will go there. Examine your heart. Ask Jesus to enter you and believe.
